The Center For Therapeutic Massage & Acupuncture, Inc. is a professional corporation organized to further touch therapeutics as an effective treatment modality for chronic ailments related to stress, depression, anxiety, fatigue and other causes. These are conditions for which the Western medical model has no definitive treatment. We take pride in our high treatment success ratio. We offer treatments to the terminally ill, the emotionally distressed, drug abuse and addiction cases, arthritis, chronic low back pain, sciatica, pms, tennis elbow and other chronic conditions. In order to maintain our effectiveness and increase our contact with the public, our director has effectuated a plan to establish a multi-divisional organization
The Worker Service Division: continues to introduce massage into the work place as a means of relieving stress and creating greater worker harmony.Recent national publications (Time and Newsweek for example) have pinpointed stress as being the cause of worker dissatisfaction, family disharmony, drug and alcohol abuse, and disease. We believe that offering massage, humor, counseling and other programs to corporations, schools and other institutions will effect positive changes in these environments. It is our hope that in doing so, we can influence the decline of the use of chemicals and reduce the intensity of stress-related disease (Heart & Hypertension). The following is a partial listing of programs offered by The Center For Therapeutic Massage & Acupuncture, Inc. directed to particularly combat Heart & Hypertension within the scope of the laws governing the State of Connecticut:
Wellness Program: This program empowers attendees to make effective decisions regarding the selection of a health care practitioner.
Defensive Driving: Teaching defensive driving techniques for use in conjunction with adverse road conditions. This program is recommended for drivers of corporate executives to deal with evasive, defensive and offensive maneuvers.
Defensive & Practical: Directed to corporate security teams, police and Handgun Use firemen who may need to develop tactical skills to defend against dynamic entry. This program may be modified to teach defensive at-home technique.
Partner Massage: To improve personal relationships and communication between partners.
On-Site Massage: Workplace massage is a 10-minute, non- threatening massage of hands, head, shoulders and back while sitting in a relaxed position.
One-Minute Tune Up: Self-help, stress reduction workshop utilizing self-massage techniques.
Executive Massage: To make available to executives and corporate personnel a massage therapist for the eleviation of tension and stress due to demanding job requirements. These are full or partial body massages, relative to sports injury, injury or stress reduction.
Wellness Division:
This division aims to integrate medical massage and acupuncture therapy into mainstream medical services. As two of the oldest health care media, both have developed sophistication in the last twenty years in Western society. The therapeutic effects of massage and acupuncture are becoming more obvious as preventive measures for athletes and as an aid in the relief of the chronic pain of arthritis, pms, headaches and tendino-muscular problems.
Public Service Division:
Community education, public access and awareness are the goals of this division. It is our intention to educate the public on such topics as self awareness and self help. This includes programs for the terminally ill, AIDS and cancer related illnesses. We seek to empower each individual to find the appropriate practitioner for each situation. As an organization which seeks to educate, we can also be retained to place practitioners at local, private, public and charitable events as well as providing clinical services to the medical, public service sector (police and firemen) and bodywork community.

The Center For Therapeutic Massage & Acupuncture, Inc.
The Center For Therapeutic Massage & Acupuncture, Inc. believes in health. That is, we believe it is possible for most of us to live healthier with less pain. Life is full of so many choices, we often short change ourselves. Too often we feel guilty about being good to ourselves. We believe we must work at good health much like we work at anything we want. We believe that health is an on-going preventive process. This means we must gain a clear perspective on stress, deal with distress, establish a link to proper nutrition and start an exercise program that makes sense! We practice Acupuncture, Acupressure (massage), Cranial/Sacral Therapy (Upledger), Medical Massage (hydro-therapy), Pre and Post-Surgical Lymphatic Drainage (Vodder), Micro-Electrical Stimulation (Acuscope), Shiatsu (Japanese Massage) (Ohashi), Swedish Massage, Sports Massage(Jack Meagher), Sports Training, Stretch (active/passive)and Veterinary Massage all described in greater length further along in this site.
